Costs associated with renting an all-inclusive yacht

Thinking of making a dream come true and going on a private yacht

vacation?

Wondering which yacht is right for you and what the costs include?

We are here to answer all your questions and accompany you from the moment you make the decision until you return from your vacation.

Booking a yacht can be a challenge, especially if it’s your first time. It takes time and energy, and can even be confusing with all the information available online.

We will be happy to assist you in making the decision, with full transparency, which yacht is suitable for the composition of guests, associated costs, and the recommended sailing season.

Base price

The average cost for a week of sailing between the Mediterranean islands can range from €10,000 to €1,000,000 for megayachts.

Yacht rental prices are determined by weekly rental. The cost does not change whether you are a couple on the yacht or the full capacity (8, 10, 12, or 14 guests).

What is included in the basic charter fee and what is not included in the yacht charter rate?

All-inclusive yacht charter includes permanent crew members – captain, chef/hostess, and deckhands, including use of the equipment available on the yacht such as water sports, crew members, cleaning, serving meals, and other facilities.

What does the yacht charter not include?

  • Tip the staff.
  • VAT in the destination country.
  • Ancillary expenses (APA) – such as fuel, fuel for water sports, mooring fees at a private marina, and food/beverage expenses.

In the case of renting an all-inclusive motor yacht or catamaran, the APA surcharge will range from 20% to 40%. The amount is collected in advance and thus prevents you from having to deal with additional expenses at the end of the vacation.

 What is APA?

Advance Provisioning Allowance –  covers all expenses during the vacation.

All expenses related to fuel and water consumption, food, drinks and alcoholic beverages, port and canal fees, are additional to the price. This is customary in luxury yacht charters with a crew. The client pays an amount for all these additional charges in advance and it is the captain’s responsibility to continue payments and provide analytical receipts to the client at the end of the vacation. The amount for these expenses is called Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) and its purpose is to improve the level of services provided, by allowing the client to remain without distraction from daily expenses. As a temporary expense, APA ranges from 20% to 40% of the charter fee. Of course, the APA depends on the level of quality that the client requires. Since the yacht vacation includes breakfast, lunch and dinner and drinks and alcohol, this is a considerable amount of money. It goes without saying that if at the end of the vacation the APA has not been exhausted, the remaining balance is returned to the client. On the other hand, additional expenses have occurred, the customer is asked to complete the balance on board before departure.

Gullet in Turkey:

If, for example, you decide to rent a gulet yacht in Turkey, the pricing includes fuel for sailing up to 4 hours a day,

What is not included:

  • VAT
  • Tip for the staff
  • Meals – An additional charge for three meals a day can range from €500 per week per guest to €1,000 per week. In some cases, the price does not include soft drinks and/or alcohol.

In addition, there will be a surcharge for fuel used in water sports, usually when using jet skis, water skiing, and anything that requires propulsion.

In fact, there is no definitive answer and each country has different pricing. We are here to help and provide full information.

What else affects yacht charter pricing?

  • season
  • Size and type of yacht
  • Year of manufacture

The sailing season lasts six months from May to the end of October. Yacht prices are lowest at the end of the season. This is the period when most people start thinking about a vacation at sea and many yachts are available for charter. However, when you get to July and August, prices increase significantly. This is the most popular period for vacations at sea and therefore there is a greater demand for yachts.

If you are planning a sailing vacation, it is important to consider the periods when yacht prices are low and the periods when prices are high. If you are looking to save money and find a yacht at low prices, it is recommended to plan your vacation in the months of May and October. If you are interested in a popular vacation and are willing to pay a higher price, July and August are the recommended periods for you. Remember, good and early planning can save you a lot of money and ensure you have a perfect vacation on a stunning yacht.

Size and type of yacht

One of the factors that affects the price of renting a yacht is the size of the yacht. There are yachts of various sizes, from small to huge yachts. The larger the yacht, the higher the price will be. It should be taken into account that the size of the yacht will also affect the number of people you can take with you on vacation, as well as the comfort and peace you can enjoy while staying on the yacht.

The second factor that affects the prices of a yacht vacation is the year of the yacht. There are new and old yachts, and the newer the yacht, the higher the price will be. The advantage of a new yacht is in its new systems and advanced technologies, as well as its modern and luxurious appearance. It should be taken into account that the year of the yacht can also affect the level of services and pampering you can receive during your vacation.

The third factor to consider is the type and destination where you want to charter a yacht. There are a variety of types of yachts, such as mega yachts, catamarans, gulets. Each type offers a unique and varied experience, and so will the prices. In addition, the destination where you want to charter the yacht will also affect the price. A yacht vacation in the Mediterranean may be cheaper than a yacht vacation in the Caribbean or the Bahamas.

In conclusion, we know it takes time to book the perfect yacht, but it is totally worth it. Once you arrive at your charter yacht, you will feel carefree. Think of all the beautiful coastal towns and islands you will visit without having to pack and unpack. Think of all the delicious meals your personal chef will cook for you and your hostess will set the dining table. You don’t have to do anything for it. Think of the sea just steps away and you can jump into the refreshing turquoise waters whenever you want. Think of the peace, privacy and intimacy of a vacation that cannot be compared to any experience on land.
